Our Story

Our first feature, Lie Q was a SAG-AFTRA signatory film shot in seventeen days within a 7-mile radius of Timonium, Maryland. We utilized local actors from Towson University, Morgan State, Goucher, Loyola, McDaniel, CCBC & UMBC. Our actors grew up in Hagerstown, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Laurel, Timonium, Towson and Baltimore.

Following Edward Burns’ model, we set upon making a feature film in the can and edited for less than $10,000. Unlike Mr. Burns’ , we were unable to find a two person crew to help us.

Using a Panasonic P2 Camera, 3 lavaliers and boom mic, we set upon our goal. We did receive help from two cameramen on two separate days through the entire shoot. Greg Marsh saved us on the first day and Daniel Armola on third day. Otherwise, Lance, Bernd or the actor/friend not in the scene ran the camera or held the boom pole or both.

Principal photography for Lie Q was completed in 2019 and edited in 2020/2021 during quarantine on Mrs. Linhart’s dining room table. The total budget ended up at $8000 with deferred pay for the actors.

We are indebted to our community for helping us complete this feature film, especially to our main filming locations: The Still in Timonium, Ukazoo Bookstore in Towson, Grapple Academy in Parkville, Namaste Restaurant in Roland Park and Loyola Blakefield in Towson.

We hope you have a few laughs at our expense especially given what we are coming out of.

Slainte,

Bernd Linhart & Lance Baldwin
